The Lapp village of Ylläs was completed last winter in Äkäslompolo, in a beautiful pine forest by the Ylläs fell, only about one kilometre away from the main road to Ski Center. 

The heart of the village is Aurora Restaurant Poro, built to imitate a sun figure used in the old Same people`s shaman drums. The building itself is made of wood and rock. In this atmosphere the delicious scents and tastes of the Lappish food can really be enjoyed. 

The Santa Claus himself has got his own house next to the restaurant. In December one can spot the Santa and the elves almost daily working hard for the Christmas season. In connection of the Santa´s House there is a Finnish Christmas handicrafts shop.

The Siberian Husky puppies do not care how cold it gets, they love to pose on the lap of adults as well as children. Once a week everybody can enjoy a husky sledge drive and reindeer drive.

We also have four new holiday apartments and smoke sauna ready by this winter in the Ylläs LappVillage built on a beautiful pine barren only two hundred meters away from the restaurant.
